Even at my mid-thirties, I still experience breakouts, so it's critical for me to find and use various blemish-targeting solutions. I bought the cosrx centella blemish cream after reading several positive reviews on YouTube, especially recommendations for the cosrx centella blemish cream 30ml, which is known as a convenient size for spot treatment. I also came across common questions like can i use cosrx centella blemish cream everyday and can i use cosrx centella blemish cream with retinol, so I wanted to test it myself to see how well it performs in a real skincare routine. In some markets, the product is also referred to as cosrx - crema anti granos centella blemish cream, highlighting its reputation as an acne-targeting treatment.
I'll write about my experience using the COSRX Centella Blemish Cream after providing some general information about it from COSRX
Ingredients
Centella Asiatica Leaf Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Zinc Oxide, Dimethicone, Betaine, 1,2-Hexanediol, Viola Tricolor Extract, Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Oil, Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Kernel Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Centella Asiatica Extract, Zinc PCA, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Xanthan Gum, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract.
Quantity & Packaging
30g in a tiny circular jar with a top that screws on. Although the jar appears to be somewhat little, which may initially disappoint you, the cream itself lasts a very long time, therefore I don't mind. Instead than digging my finger or a spatula into this jar, I would like have it in a tube container so I could easily squeeze a bit out at a time.
Scent
Natural light tea-tree leaf oil scent.
Appearance & Texture
An almost whipped-smooth, thick, white, paste-like cream that doesn't feel heavy, sticky, or greasy on the skin.
My Experience
I was quite dissatisfied with the COSRX Centella Blemish Cream when I first used it because it feels like surface-level moisture and moves around like a white paste that takes a very long time to blend and absorb. After a while, my skin feels dry again and isn't as deeply nourished as I would like. Then I realized I wasn't utilizing it correctly. The purpose of the COSRX Centella Blemish Cream is to treat blemishes exclusively, not the rest of the face. It is not intended to be used as an all-over moisturizer.
I started using the COSRX Centella Blemish Cream correctly after this sudden realization, and I'm amazed at how well it works on blemishes. I apply a thick layer to the areas that are irritated and leave it there overnight as my final nightly step before going to bed after washing, toning, moisturizing, etc. I have a calming sense as soon as it touches my skin, and it is comfortable enough to wear all night. My breakouts feel much calmer and there is a noticeable decrease in redness when I wake up the next morning. After a few days of consistent application, the breakout totally flattens out and stops being inflamed.
In the few months that I've been using it, I haven't noticed any change in any old post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation marks, despite the fact that it works well for reducing inflammation and calming redness. However, when I apply it to new breakouts, I've noticed that, depending on the type of breakout, it keeps hyperpigmentation from forming either completely or as darkly as it would have without this cream.
Although it works quickly, I wouldn't say that the COSRX Centella Blemish Cream is a miracle spot treatment. I've used a lot of effective ones with different textures, but when used correctly, it is one of the most effective ones, so it's definitely worth a try.
